    • What is Akash Ganga Chennai ?

    Akash Ganga Chennai - "water from sky in Chennai" is a citizen's action group formed in July 2001 to promote Rainwater Harvesting by the people of Chennai.

    Chennai has a population of over 5.4 million people and average annual rainfall of 51" falling mostly during October, November and December. There are many successful installations of RWH in houses, buildings and factories in Chennai. However, these account for less than 1% of the total number of houses and buildings.

    Our objective is to reach the citizens, business leaders, school and college students and urge them to TAKE ACTION NOW and try to solve the water problem in Chennai.
